    Job Opportunity

    As a Production Operative you’ll be responsible for running high-speed machinery safely, efficiently, and effectively. This includes performing quality and safety checks, troubleshooting issues, and making adjustments as needed.

    The main focus of this role is teamwork, safety, and working to high standards.

    Production Operative Duties

    • Operating and monitoring machinery to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
    • Conducting regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet the required standards.
    • Undertaking routine maintenance and cleaning of the machinery.
    • Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials.
    • Adhering to quality, health, and safety procedures and regulations.
    • Keeping accurate records of production output and downtime and working as a team to reach output targets.

    Purpose of the Job

    • To provide both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service for all operational equipment and site facilities.
    • To ensure all equipment is performing to the optimum levels.
    • To ensure all equipment meets acceptable safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

    • Ensuring all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is completed safely, cost effectively, on time and to a satisfactory standard.
    • Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager and being capable of acting as proxy if required.
    • Providing a service that ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to optimum performance levels and that all departmental Service Level Agreement’s and Key Performance Indicators are met.
    • Reacting in a timely manner to maintenance requests.
    • Following common processes and standards within the engineering department including Safety, Quality, Environment, and Security.
    • Maximizing availability of all mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement.

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or served a full engineering apprenticeship.
    • Background in tissue/paper converting, printing, or similar industries would be advantageous.
    • Significant practical engineering experience.
    • Proven knowledge/experience of PLCs including Siemens S5 and S7.
    • Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines (60/40 split).
    • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
    • Significant experience of AC and DC motors and drives.
    • Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal) at all levels.
    • Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
