    • Problem solving to route cause safely, effectively and in a timely manner in order to meet business needs is essential

  • Shift Manager – Telford

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The ideal candidate will have some previous production or operational team supervisory experience.  You must be able to communicate effectively and work in an efficient and timely manner with a calm and positive outlook.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Shift management of the team of cell leaders and production operatives
    • Ensure the efficiency of production lines and adherence with production plans
    • Responsible for reaching pre-defined objectives in compliance with Safety and Environmental Standards
    • Quality of all products made in conjunction with ISO 9001 Quality System
    • Manage cost control, in relation to labour resource, production quality & complexity of production line and product produced

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

    • Pervious production or operations supervisory experience of some kind as this is a hands-on role (A FMCG or automotive background would be advantageous)
    • Some previous people management experience
    • Good interpersonal and influencing skills

  • General Site Operators – Disley

    What we are looking for

    Northwood is a group of associated companies that provide the manufacturing, supply and transportation of paper hygiene and wiping products for both the away-from-home and consumer market.  We have an exciting opportunity for General Site Operatives to join our Paper Mill at Disley to operate our larger paper making equipment.  We require 2 x General Operatives to work Monday to Friday and 2 x General Operative to work our rotating shift pattern. We need motivated self-starters who will be proactive in taking ownership of their area. This means working to high standards – encouraging others to keep those same standards, with an eye for detail to pick up on possibly quality challenges. 

    Responsibilities

    • Adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental Procedures and Regulations
    • Achieve output Targets set through effective teamworking
    • Complete all relevant daily production checks

    Desirable Experience

    • Ability to work rotating shift pattern, 2 x 12 hour days followed by 2x 12 hour nights  – 06.00 -18.00/18.00 -06.00 or Monday to Friday 08.00 – 17.00
    • Experience in operating heavy machinery
    • Ability to operate FLT
    • IT Literate – competent in operating Microsoft Office – Excel/Word
    • Self-motivated and can work under pressure
    • A can-do attitude, able to overcome obstacles with a team approach
    • Ability to follow instructions
    • Good practical skills

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

    We have an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Manager based at our Paper Mill in Chesterfield.  This is a critical role for the site and the successful candidate will be an integral part of the site leadership team as well as, joining an experienced and dedicated Northwood Safety and Quality Team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To manage and guarantee that health and safety objectives connected to Northwood Chesterfield Mill are achieved, in compliance with Group Policies
    • To ensure Northwood Chesterfield Mill operates a suitable and sufficient Environment and Quality Management system to meet the requirements of ISO9001, BRC Consumer Products, FSC and CHSA standards
    • To ensure Safe, Legal and Products of consistent quality

    desirable experience

    • ISO Lead Auditor trained would be beneficial
    • Exposure to BRC standards and audits is beneficial

    Required Qualifications

    • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ
    • Technical member of IOSH or above
    • Internal Auditor Qualified in management system standard
    • First Aid at Work
